MR X was used for towing howitzers and Rapier anti-aircraft missiles. The bodywork can be quickly stripped down to basics for air-transport or airlifted underneath helicopters. In November 1977, MR X went to the 9th/12th Lancers. In May 1979, he went to the 13th/18th Royal Hussars. In November 1982, he went to Queen’s Dragoon Guard. In July 1984, he was deployed to Light Aid, Queen’s Dragoon Guards before being redesigned to the 9th/12th Lancers, Light Air Detachment with whom he remained until he retired in January 1994. After a year and a half of hard work, his restoration is nearly complete. engine is a Rover 3.5L V8 with a 4 speed transmission, developing 155 bhp at 5250 rpm.
